Christine states involving more older adults as animal fosterers has the potential to improve the health of both animals and the humans who care for them. HOPE Scholar presents at the Australasian Menopause Society
HOPE Scholar, Celine Camon, was awarded an Australasian Menopause Society (AMS) scholarship to present at their recent conference in Queenstown. Celine was also awarded the Jean Hailes Memorial Prize for the best free communication presentation by a current AMS member within 10 years of completing their tertiary degree. iSupport for Dementia - processes to adapt this resource in different countries
HOPE Scholar, Tara Sani presented this poster at the New Zealand Association of Gerontology Conference in September 2023. Tara's poster outlines the adaptation processes for different countries who wish to use iSupport for Dementia, a self-paced online training programme for carers of people with dementia. The World Health Organization produced iSupport for Dementia as part of the Global Action Plan on the Public Health Response to Dementia.
WINNER! Oxford Poster Prize at IUCr 2023
Congratulations to HOPE Scholar, Benjamin Krinkel. Ben's poster, "Are malic enzymes a metabolic drug target in the war against cancer?" won the Oxford Poster Prize at the International Union of Crystallography 2023 Conference in Melbourne.
Investigation of narrow-band NIR LED spectral response towards a non-invasive glucose sensor
The prevalence of type 2 diabetes is increasing. More than 250,000 older New Zealanders live with this disease. Increased insulin resistance leads to high blood glucose and other serious complications such as heart disease, blindness, limb amputations, and early death.
Physical artificial arterial pulse system for development and testing of PPG-based sensors
This work is part of Josie Dixon's PhD project to develop a low-cost, non-invasive blood glucose monitoring method to improve health outcomes for people living with diabetes (Editor).
