Thank you from Diwakar

Dear Donor,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Diwakar Khanal, and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Canterbury. I am honoured to have been selected as a recipient of the HOPE Foundation Scholarship for Research on Ageing for 2025, and I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for this generous support.

My research focuses on a crucial and timely topic in New Zealand—the experiences of migrant care workers in aged residential care. As someone who has always been fortunate to receive academic funding, it was quite disheartening to face challenges in securing scholarships this time. Receiving the Hope Foundation Scholarship has not only provided financial support but also renewed my motivation and hope.

At a time when funding for social sciences is being reduced, your contribution brings much-needed relief and encouragement to students like me who are dedicated to researching ageing and its many dimensions. I truly appreciate this support, and I am deeply grateful for the Foundation’s commitment to this important field.

Once again, thank you for your generosity. It means a great deal to me, and I am inspired to continue my work with even greater dedication.

Regards,
Diwakar
