Leave a bequest
One contribution you can make to the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing is to leave a bequest. This will help future students to study ageing, provide learning opportunities to allied health workers in the ageing industry, help develop the pool of researchers in New Zealand and influence decision-makers to improve the quality of life for older New Zealanders.
The HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing is an integral and active part of ageing research within New Zealand. We kindly ask you to consider making a gift to HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing in your Will (a bequest). By leaving a bequest specifically to the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing you leave a legacy that will benefit both the older generations and the younger generations as they age.
We invite you to let us know your intentions in advance so we can thank you in person.
You can simply instruct your lawyer to update/prepare a Will with a simple clause such as:
Percentage of Residual Estate (most common)
"I give [insert percentage e.g., 10%] of my residuary estate specifically to the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing (Charity registration CC24328) located at PO Box 125192, St Heliers, Auckland 1050, for its general purposes. I declare a receipt from an authorised officer of the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors and trustees."
Specific Sum of Money (pecuniary Bequest)
"I give the sum of $[Amount] specifically to the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing (Charity registration CC24328) located at PO Box 125192, St Heliers, Auckland 1050, for its general purposes. I declare a receipt from an authorised officer of the HOPE Foundation for Research on Ageing shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors and trustees."
Preparing your Will does not have to be complicated or expensive, but we recommend you seek the advice of a lawyer to ensure your Will is valid and clearly sets out the way you intend your estate to be distributed. It is important to review your Will every few years to make sure it reflects your wishes and any change in circumstances.
